Hobie 16 Worlds 2026 in the USA: back in pictures with Forward Sailing

The 2026 Hobie 16 International Championship brought the Hobie 16 community to Ocean Springs, Mississippi, from September 12 to 25.

As a partner of the event, Forward Sailing had the opportunity to connect directly with sailors from an international class that continues to bring different generations onto the water.

With new images received after the event, we take another look at the US championship and at one practical requirement shared by many Hobie 16 owners: protecting the boat between sailing sessions.

Hobie 16 Worlds 2026: back in pictures

Ocean Springs provided a strong setting for several days of Hobie 16 racing. International crews, close competition and boats prepared for a full championship once again showed why the Hobie 16 remains such an active catamaran class.

The new photos give us an opportunity to continue the story after the event and stay connected with Hobie 16 sailors in the United States and around the world.

A global class with very practical needs

Hobie 16s are raced, sailed at clubs and used recreationally around the world. Whatever the programme, owners face the same practical questions: how to transport the boat, leave it rigged between sessions and protect it while it sits ashore.
