Eurocat 2017 : The triumph of GRANT Pigott and FARREN Simon

Saturday the 13th of April started off well, it held the briefing of the competitors and the announcement of the program. Right after, the participants were getting ready. On midday, the winds scored 35 knots. The competitors had to turn down the catamaran sails and attach their boats to the ground. Everybody ran for cover while the winds kept blowing harder, making the races impossible to launch. During the evening, a ceremony was held to reward every winner of each category. Georges, 10 years old, has been awarded a very special price and is considered the youngest sailor of the history of the competition. Then, all competitors and organizers gathered around a hot meal.

The day after, the weather didn’t get any better. The winds kept going from 25 to 30 knots. In the morning, the program was announced to all competitors. The organizers declared they would launch the game the minute the weather clears. Unfortunately, the winds ket blowing all day, which lead to the cancellation of the game. Dart 18, C3 and C4 teams’ races couldn’t be registered since they didn’t get the chance to run their third race.
