Morocco Sailing Challenge

For the Moroccan Sailing Challenge project, Hicham Aachi and Mehdi Rouizem will get on board of their cabin-less Hobie Cat 18 catamaran sport by the end of the year 2017. By doing so, the two sailing lovers look forward to show the world the beauty and the diversity of their homeland, Morocco. The course extends to 2400 km, which reaches around 1500 miles.

For this special occasion, the two sailors looked into every detail of their equipment, especially the catamaran sail because the structure of their catamran will have to be very resistant in order to challenge the heavy wind and swell. Hicham and Mehdi have already made a few tests between Mohammadia and Casablanca.

Starting from Saidia, in northeast Morocco, and ending in Dakhla, the course will include 4 stages which are Tanger, Mohammadia, Agadir and Laayoune.

Moreover, Hichem Aachi and Mehdi Rouizem plan on organizing an annual catamaran sport race along the same course. They intend to gather 10 catamaran teams at the launching of the 2018 Morocco Sailing Challenge edition.
